Tooth bonding is a quick, effective cosmetic solution used to address chipped, discolored, and broken teeth. It is referred to as bonding because the composite resin is shaped, molded, and then bonded to the affected tooth.
Ideally, bonding is used to address minor cosmetic dentistry work, making it ideal for children, teens, and adults. Aside from chipped teeth, bonding can also address the following dental concerns:
- Gapped teeth
- Uneven teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Discolored teeth
At Greenway Dental Care, Dr. Richard Keech offers a complete range of cosmetic solutions for the entire family. Dental bonding is a cost-effective and practical way to achieve a beautiful smile. To determine if tooth bonding is right for you, visit our Fayetteville dentist office.

- It is considered an additive process, so it requires little to no removal of the tooth enamel
Bonding can last many years; however, if you want a more permanent restoration in the future, we can alter your bonded teeth. Some patients may opt for porcelain veneers to improve their smile.
Am I A Candidate For Dental Bonding?
To determine if you are a candidate for dental bonding, you will need to visit our office for a cosmetic dentistry consultation. During your consultation, we will assess your teeth, discuss your cosmetic goals, and address any underlying oral health concerns. The results of your examination will help us determine if dental bonding or another cosmetic solution is right for you. We often recommend dental bonding for minor cosmetic concerns.
Depending on your cosmetic goals or for areas with extensive damage or discoloration, we may recommend porcelain veneers, tooth whitening, or dental crowns.
What Happens During The Tooth Bonding Process?
Dental bonding can be completed in one visit to our Fayetteville dentist office. Your comfort and overall satisfaction are important to our team at Greenway Dental Care, so we make every effort to ensure you are fully informed and relaxed throughout all phases of your care.
If necessary, we will begin by applying a local or topical anesthetic to ensure the affected area is numb. We will lightly etch the affected tooth to create an adequate bonding surface for the composite resin. The composite resin is color matched so that it blends with your existing teeth.
Once the teeth are prepared, Dr. Keech will carefully mold the composite resin into the desired shape. After the desired shape is reached, the resin is cured using a special light. To achieve a natural finish, Dr. Keech will gently polish the tooth.
Caring for a bonded tooth is similar to caring for the natural teeth. Be sure to maintain a healthy oral hygiene routine and schedule regular visits to the dentist. With proper care and maintenance, a bonded tooth can last upwards to 10 years.
